Come join our R&D Lab Team as a R&D Chemist!! Natural Essentials Inc is an FDA-regulated and cGMP-compliant manufacturing facility specializing in personal care beauty products. Committed to our customers’ visions, we offer a variety of different processes all designed to make it as easy as possible for them to hit the market with their product.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Develop and formulate products based on customer requirements, including skin care, hair care, over-the-counter topical, and cosmetic products.
- Prepare laboratory-scale batches for evaluation, testing, and formulation optimization.
- Operate and maintain proficiency with laboratory and formulation equipment, including pH meters, viscometers, homogenizers, and related equipment.
- Speak directly with customers to understand their needs and provide formulation support and solutions.
- Collaborate with customers to develop and support product marketing concepts and claims.
- Source and order raw materials needed to complete formulations.
- Qualify raw materials in accordance with established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with raw material suppliers and internal departments.
- Research and evaluate emerging ingredients, industry trends, technologies, and product innovations.
- Attend relevant workshops and seminars to stay informed of formulation practices and ingredients.
- Prepare and maintain required documentation for customer samples and product approvals, including:
- Ingredient Lists.
- Evaluation and Approval Forms.
- Complete Customer Dossiers.
- Composition Breakdown.
- Regulatory Documentation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and production during formulation scale-up .
- Develop a working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, including kettles, mixers, pumps, and related processing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the manufacturing process as needed to support successful production.
- Adhere to company policy for personal protective equipment (PPE) and workplace safety.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in product development, formulation, or a related laboratory environment preferred.
- Understanding of basic chemistry principles, formulation techniques, and laboratory practices.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft software programs.
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in both laboratory and manufacturing environments while following all company safety and PPE requirements.

Work Location: Aurora, OH
Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 Hourly
